One weekend, climbing at two crags: Grands Malades and Beez!

Saturday is about the crag at the former limestone quarry of Grands Malades, which is situated near the river Meuse. The faces are mostly vertical with some technical climbing, except for a roof in La Grande Muraille where the Neoliet South roof-climbing enjoyers can try some beautiful routes.

Just a stone's throw from Grands Malades, you will encounter the second largest crag in Belgium: Rochers de Beez, where we will go Sunday!

Beez is part of a dolomite massif that stretches for kilometers along the Meuse River, near Namur. It is characterized by its relatively athletic routes and moderate climbing grades. The area is also entrenched in history, since we owe its existence to King Albert I, who preferred being a climber to being a king and seized every opportunity to escape royal duties and enjoy rock climbing. Before it was opened to the public, it used to be a completely militarized zone.

You can join this double-crag weekend if you are not following the course, but keep in mind that your single pitch license is required if you’re not follwoing the course.

Also keep in mind that this is a weekend in Belgium thus a klimjaarkaart is required to climb.
